Worship

Every Sunday, 10:00 - 11:00a.m. (announcements at 9:55)

Rev. Nancy McDonald Ladd is in the pulpit most Sundays; other services are lay-led.

The Adult Choir generally sings on the second and third Sundays of the month.

Directions

We are located in Old Town Manassas at the corner of Church Street (Route 28 South) and Main Street. Church Street is a one-way street, and Center Street is one-way the other way a block south of Church Street.

From the West
Take Route 28 north into Manassas — this becomes Center Street, and you turn left onto Main Street, go one block, and you're there.
From the East
Take the Prince William Parkway (Route 3000) to the Manassas City limits (Liberia Avenue intersection), go straight on Wellington Road, turn right on Grant Avenue, turn right onto Center Street, then left onto Main Street and go one block.
From the South
Take Dumfries Road (Route 234) north to Manassas, turn right onto Business 234, which becomes Grant Avenue, turn right onto Center Street, then left onto Main Street and go one block.
From the Northeast
Take Route 28 (Centreville Road) south to Manassas where it becomes Church Street and go two blocks.
From the Northwest
Take Business Route 234 (Sudley Road) south into Manassas, remain on Business Route 234 south by turning right onto Grant Avenue, turn left onto Center Street, then left onto Main Street and go one block.

Parking

On-street parking is scarce directly in front of the church, but there is ample parking within a couple blocks. Across Church Street from BRUU are two business parking lots where BRUU members may park on Sundays. On-street parking on Main Street is available north of the church. There are several municipal parking lots within Old Town if you can't find anything closer; the closest is the one near the water tower and fire station where Centreville Rd. turns into Church St.

What to Expect

You should be greeted at BRUU's door and provided a visitor's information pack and a short information form about you to fill out. BRUU has a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, so most people dress casually. Two coat racks are available in the back of the sanctuary (near the balcony stairs). We take words, music, and silence seriously and most services incorporate all three. A typical Sunday's order of service might look like this:

Some services do not follow this model, particularly lay-led services and the two annual choir services in December and June. Because of the wide variety of services, we encourage you to come to two or three services to get the full flavor and invite you especially to come when Rev. Ladd is in the pulpit (you can check the schedule of services) and when the adult choir is singing (second and third Sundays, usually).

Children

Children and youth Religious Education (also known as Sunday School) occurs at the same time as the service. There is a nursery, a preschool room, and for school-age kids there are rooms for grades K-1, 2-3, 4-5, 6-7-8, and youth. Children are also welcome to sit in the service with parents, if you prefer.

Fellowship

Coffee hour occurs immediately after the service in the Fellowship Hall, one floor below the Sanctuary. Coffee, tea, other drinks, and snacks are provided. Please take one of the blue coffee mugs to show that you are interested in conversation. We're glad you came, and would love to have a chance to get to know you!
