We have a vibrant music program at BRUU, with many opportunities for YOU to be involved. There are three choirs, for adults, children and youth.

  • The adult choir meets on Wednesday nights from 7-8:30 (childcare is available) and sings twice monthly for worship services (on second and third Sundays).
  • Our children’s choir includes grades 3-6/7 and meets on the first and third Sundays of each month from 11:30-12:30. After rehearsal on third Sundays, we have lunch together at the church.
  • The youth choir is for grades 7/8-12 and meets three times monthly, on first Sunday evenings from 5-6:30 (includes dinner together during the last half hour), on second Sunday mornings from 11:30-12:30 and on one Thursday night from 6:30-7:30.
Anyone who can carry a tune is welcome to join a choir; it is not necessary that you be able to read music or have prior experience.

If you play a musical instrument and would like to play at BRUU, we have informal ensembles that meet and play periodically. Contact Annease Hastings for more information and/or if you would like to play for a worship service sometime.

We offer evensong services about 4 times a year; these are alternative worship experiences with lots of music. Evensong services are on Friday nights (February 15 and April 25, 2008) at 7:30, with fellowship and food afterwards. Music classes are offered during Discovery Dinners throughout the year.

Please contact our music director Annease Hastings for more information on any of these activities. (music@bruu.org or 703/361-6269)
