Evensong
Evensong services are on hold for now. We hope to continue this tradition in the future as local health recommendations change and we return to normal operations.
Evensong services are contemplative in nature and filled with music, poetry, and reflections. Free Admission. Offered via zoom at this time.
All Evensong services are on Friday nights at 7:30 pm
Past services:
- April 23, 2021; 7:30 pm – Peace is Flowing Like a River
All of us experience desert times, when our lives feel barren and dry. What “waters” are needed, to restore ourselves and others? Join us for a service of music and personal reflections. Please check your newsletter for the zoom meeting link for Sunday services, used for evensong also. - February 26, 2021; 7:30 pm – Food for the Soul
However you define soul, it goes to the core of our being. Dorothy Day said “food for the body is not enough. There must be food for the soul.” Through music and readings, we’ll reflect on how we nourish our souls. Please check your newsletter for the zoom meeting link for Sunday services, used for evensong also. - October 23, 2020; 7:30 pm – Earth’s Refrain
If Mother Earth could sing, what would her songs tell us? I imagine they would inspire and challenge us with messages of resilience, healing, strength, and reminders that all is connected. Join us for a contemplative service as we open our ears and hearts to Earth’s refrain. Please check your newsletter for the zoom meeting link for Sunday services, used for evensong also.
Please contact our interim music director David Maley for more information on any of music activities. (music@bruu.org or 703-361-6269)
