There&#8217;s lots of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bruu.org\/www2\/about-us\/music-ministry\/\">music<\/a>.\u00a0 We have regular (and irregular&#8230;) parties, outdoor activities, workshops\/classes, song circles\/drumming, and interesting off-the-cuff discussions during workdays as we paint and clean.<\/p>\n<p>Very rarely we have to cancel events due to events outside our control &#8211; see our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bruu.org\/www2\/about-us\/inclement-weather-policy\/\">inclement weather policy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bruu.org\/www2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/seconds.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15999\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bruu.org\/www2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/seconds.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bruu.org\/www2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/seconds.png 800w, https:\/\/www.bruu.org\/www2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/seconds-420x189.png 420w, https:\/\/www.bruu.org\/www2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/seconds-768x346.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Regular Events<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bruu.org\/www2\/about-us\/education-programs\/religious-education-adult\/\"><strong>Adult Life Enrichment (ALE) <\/strong><\/a>&#8211; We explore a wide range of topics at adult &#8220;religious education&#8221; sessions on the third Monday of the month. (NOTE: schedule shifts around holidays&#8230;)\u00a0 Dinner starts at 6:00pm, and sessions last from 7:00-8:30ish.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/event.auctria.com\/03f0e888-ae73-40af-a829-582241aa5fed\/\">Adult Retreat<\/a> <\/strong>&#8211; The 2025 Adult Retreat will be November 7-9, 2025.<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bruu.org\/www2\/special-events\/bruu-auction\/\">Auction<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; Every year in November, we sell things and services (such as dinners, music events, art, game nights, vacation places to stay, yard work, and technical support) to generate funds for BRUU and create opportunities to get to know each other.\u00a0 The auction itself can get wild; who knrew a jar of lemon curd could be so valuable?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bruu.org\/www2\/bible-discussion-group\/\"><strong>Bible Discussion Group<\/strong><\/a> &#8211; We gather on the first Sunday of each month in the Flamingo Lounge from 9:00-9:45am, before Sunday Services.\u00a0 It&#8217;s a great opportunity to discover the wisdom\/myths\/history in one of the major sources of religious tradition.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bruu.org\/www2\/book-group\/\"><strong>Book Group<\/strong><\/a> &#8211; We Zoom on the third Monday of each month from 3:30-5:00pm.\u00a0 Books are varied, but mostly fiction that is easily available in libraries.\u00a0 Discussion is always stimulating, even if the books are occasionally a dud.<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bruu.org\/www2\/events-calendar\/chrysalis-concerts-music-transforming-community\/\">Chrysalis Concerts<\/a> &#8211; <\/strong>There&#8217;s a roots\/folk audience in the Manassas area.\u00a0 BRUU delivers concerts every month or two to meet the need and provide a space to socialize with fellow fans and meet the musicians.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CUUPS (Covenant of UU Pagans)<\/strong> meets third Sunday of each month at 11:30am.<br \/>\n<!--\n<strong><em>CUUPS (Covenant of Unitarian Universalist Pagans) at the Crossroads<\/em><\/strong>\nFor nature based and pagan curious persons, all who come to the crossroads with open hearts and open minds are welcome. No experience necessary. Facilitated by Annaliess Trommatter and Michelle Lumen, CUUPS at the Crossroads offers learning experiences during the Monday night ALE sessions, and is\nforming a monthly meeting group as well as seasonal celebrations.<strong><em>UU Wellspring<\/em><\/strong>\nSpiritual deepening courses for Unitarian Universalists. Deep listening and reflection in small groups of about ten people leads to personal and community transformation. A sense of personal purpose and meaning arises from UU Wellspring\u2019s unique combination of spiritual practices, spiritual companionship,\nreadings and heart opening discussions. A sustaining joy emerges while deepening commitment to making change in ourselves and in our world. You will reflect on featured art forms while creating to serve the congregation and the community.\n--><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bruu.org\/www2\/food-pantry\/\"><strong>Emergency Food Pantry<\/strong><\/a> &#8211; 9:00-11:00am on second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. BRUU&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bruu.org\/www2\/settled-minister-search-welcome\/governance\/committees\/food-pantry\/\">food pantry<\/a> is available to any person who needs food.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bruu.org\/www2\/first-friday\/\"><strong>First Fridays<\/strong><\/a> &#8211; 6:00-7:00pm on (<em>you guessed it&#8230;<\/em>) First Friday of the month between April-November. Stop by and visit at the front door of BRUU on the corner of Church and Main streets between 6:00-7:00pm (look for the bubbles!) to mingle\/schmooze\/chat before enjoying the restaurants and special <a href=\"https:\/\/historicmanassas.org\/first-fridays\/\">First Friday<\/a> entertainment in Downtown Manassas\u00a0 Around 7:00pm, we start to roast marshmalllows and make S&#8217;mores.\u00a0 (Portable fire pits are really useful&#8230;)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bruu.org\/www2\/midweek-coffee-hour-zoom\/\"><strong>Midweek Coffee Hour<\/strong><\/a> &#8211; There&#8217;s an informal check-in and conversation each Wednesday by Zoom, 10:00-11:30am.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Monday Volleyball<\/strong> &#8211; During the Summer (weather permitting), members of BRUU gather on Monday evenings for friendly and energetic volleyball at a member&#8217;s home in Manassas. Potluck follows the game.\u00a0 (Some of us come for just the food and to pet the dogs.)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/oakgrovefestival.com\/\"><strong>Oak Grove Music Festival <\/strong><\/a>&#8211; Near Staunton two hours from Manassas, there&#8217;s a mature forest with a stage where Shenandoah Valley folk\/roots musicians and their fans gather annually on an August weekend.\u00a0 BRUUers are always in the audience, enjoying an &#8220;offsite&#8221; activity that&#8217;s a fun way to relax and recharge.<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bruu.org\/www2\/pflag-at-bruu\/\">Prince William PFLAG Meeting<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; 7:30pm on Third Tuesday of each month.
