In the time of Jesus’ birth, Israel was occupied and governed by Rome. Mary and Joseph went to be counted in the census in Nazareth, where she gave birth to a baby she named Jesus and whom the angel said would lead his people into better days.

Each of us is such a savior; we must work for the transformation of our nation and the world into a better one for all.
