Reflections on The Parliament of World Religions (video)

Rev. Charlotte attended the recent Parliament of World Religions (PoWR) – the theme of which was “A Call to Conscience: Defending Freedom & Human Rights” – in Chicago in August. This was on the occasion of the 130th anniversary of the original Parliament held in conjunction with the 1893 Chicago World’s fair. Unitarians and Universalists were prominent among the original developers of this and future important gatherings of people from the world’s diverse religious and philosophical traditions. This morning’s service will reflect on the history of PoWR, its influence on UUism, and the opportunities experienced to learn and share our values.

The worship service will include the child dedication of Estelle Griffith Oliver, daughter of Mike Oliver and Kayla Marie Griffith.

Following the service, we will celebrate the repair, restoration and protection of our stained glass windows by honoring the people who contributed funds to make that project possible.

Our Share the Plate this week will be for Future Kings, Engineering Bright Futures.
